Veer ji, it is very good that you want to convert to Sikhism. But there is a request, before you come to Sikhism that you should read Gurbani with a lot of emotion and meaning. If not complete Gurbani then first read and understand the meaning of Jap Ji Sahib and Asa Ki Vaar Bani. You are most welcome.
Dear madam, I need a teacher to learn as i am from South India and am not well versed in Punjabi.
DR Bala ji, we are pleased to teach u gurmukhi and gurbani which will help u to know the teachings of GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.You can visit our website “www.jeevanjaach.com” .Our new batches will start in January and forms will be issued soon.You can put a mail on [email protected]. regards RIMPLE kaur (jeevan jaach)
Respected Dr. Bala Sundram;
I agree with the above responses.
I am referencing a spirit of the quote from Gurbani,
If you wish to learn to love, clear your head of all other thoughts and come on (join me) on this path. When you step on this path, dedicate yourself and don’t look back.
You are a Sikh, the day you decide to accept the massage of Guru Granth Sahib and leave all else.
To start to understand Sikhi to a greater depth, please join Jeevan Jaach classes starting in January. And you may join Gurbani Discussion groups in the area. For personal touch you get in touch with me (+1 678 794 1794 ) or any of the other scholars on this site.
Thank you very much sir.Will put my best to learn
Dr Bala Sundaram Ji if you need one to one discourse contact me at [email protected]. We can then talk on WhatsApp as and when needed

I am thinking about converting to Sikhism. But there are no Sikhs in my town. There are Sikhs scattered around one town over but I don’t know how to fine any of them. I need some guidance on how to become a Sikh. There are no classes about Sikhism in my area so I am slowly trying to learn it all by myself.
Also I don’t know what to say to my friends and family. My dad is fine with it but my mom is skeptical. And my friends will freak out.
I will also never be able to read Punjabi in the beautiful script. I can’t for some reason read anything visually complex. I likewise can’t read Japanese or Arabic and have tried to several times. Is this going to be a problem?
