I mean are children mentioned in the holy scriptures?

      sure it is mentioned in sahib Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji about childrens

      ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਲ, ਬਾਲਕੁ ਸ਼ਬਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਆਦਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ metaphoric ਤਰੀਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਲਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
      ਜਿਉ ਬਾਲਿਕ ਪਿਤਾ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਣ॥
      ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣਿ॥ (ਅੰਗ ੩੯੬)
