We must know that what is our purpose for the Nagar Kirtan?
Was there any Nagar Kirtan used to be held during Guru Sahib times?
The Nagar Kirtans started around 1970.
One can say about the Prabhat Pheri, to remind the people to go to the Guru for the teachings. But I doubt whether any Nagar Kirtan used to be held as of now. At the most we can say that Nagar Kirtan is the extension of Prabhat Pheri.
We must know the purpose of Nagar Kirtan and must ask ourselves whether we have achieved that?

People throw eatables on the road, Is this good culture to teach?
We must find some way to make this a profitable one.
Instead of spending money on fun and show, it can be used in preparing and distributing literature about Sikhi (According to Guru Granth Sahib only)
Eatables and drinks up to bare minimum only. Better to start after eating and then in the end only. If it is of long duration then one transient halt can be kept in the middle.
On the way simple water can be served as required.
Extra money can be spent on the lectures, seminars, question answer sessions and teaching of Gurbani.

There is no hard and fast rule for washing the hair. Normally People do not wash their hair daily, but washing interval depends upon the climate and type of work. One should be fresh and awake while studying Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib. Hence, it always better to take bath in the morning and then study Gurbani. In case it is not possible because of medical or some other reason. Then action can be taken accordingly.
There is no specific time or place required for studying Gurbani. The requirements are same, as are required for carrying out any other study. We should be physically and mentally fresh.

Akal Purkh has created all the body parts with specific purposes. If we play with any of the body parts then we may suffer in the long run.
ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੋਤਿ ॥ – 309
This refers to not only the hair at the head but also at all the body parts
While fiddling with the hair at any part of the body, we disturbing the equilibrium of the skin.
Hair are live when they are attached to the body. When they are dead, they start coming out. Hence, every Sikh is supposed to comb his hair to keep them neat and clean.
Similarly nails are also live and dead. Pink nails are live and no one can dare to cut them, because they have sense organs. The dead nails are black/brown/white, which do not have sense organs. Hence we can cut them to keep our body clean.
Only difference is that hair do not have sense organs, hence people can cut them without any pain.
But definitely we are disturbing the equilibrium of the body, for which one will have to pay in the long run. Many unwanted elements come out of the body with the help of hair.
In olden days most of the people and the religious leaders used to keep hair. All the Sikhs were having hair as they were taught to understand and follow the Hukam of Akal Purkh.

ਮਾਸੁ ਮਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਝਗੜੇ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ – 1289
The choice of selecting the meat is same as for any other vegetable. One has to see whether it is fresh and suitable to eat for the body. All these confusions have been taken from other religions. Eating of meat has nothing to do with the religion.
Purpose is to become Sachyaar and not ritual Path or Pooja. There is no question of being vegetarian or non vegetarian. Gurmat does not put any such restrictions.
Hence, all the Guru Sahibs might be eating both type of food, without any confusion or restrictions.

ਮੂੰਹ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਜਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਭਾਵ, ਗੱਲਾ ਦਾ ਚਸਕਾ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕੰਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦੇ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਜਦੀਆਂ, ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਇੰਦਰੇ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਹਕ ਹਨ, ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਾਹਕੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਏ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਚਸਕਾ ਹਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਮਝਾਇਆਂ ਭੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਮਨੂੱਖ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।੨।
