Gurdwara is a place where we get spiritual knowledge and wisdom. Like our child who goes to school but does not get any knowledge from the teacher and fails in the exam, our going to Gurdwara is meaningless if we don’t get spiritual knowledge and wisdom to deal with our problems. We can get spiritual knowledge and wisdom by discussing Bani through social media, web, zoom discussions, TV, at home or in a park. All these become Gurdwara, the gateway to Guru. That does not mean we don’t need Gurdwara building. It is a center where most of us gather regularly. We should go there for a meaningful purpose.

Guru gives example of how butter (Ghee) is obtained from curdled milk. It is put in a pitcher and churned slowly with a churning stick. If it is churned fast then it will turn to butter milk, but there will be no butter. In the same way we should go, and sit in the company of Gurbani (Sat Sangat), where the Virtues (Naam) of the God is discussed (churned). The message should be contemplated in peace and poise so that the essence is not lost. We should remember that message constantly, day and night to get celestial peace. Only those find the Perfect True Guru, who looks for one and receive the spiritual knowledge and wisdom. Let everyone bow in worship to the Guru, who makes us realize us Virtues of the God. Contemplation cannot be done if we do Path fast like during Akhand Path. It has to be done slowly, in peace and poise (Sehaj).

Your Names are so many, and Your Forms are endless. No one can tell how many glorious virtues You have.
The message of Guru Granth Sahib is that it is not the name of God which is important but Its virtues. One has to obtain those virtues and do good deeds to merge with the God in this life.
AGGS 491
Ram Ram Sabh Ko Kehai Kehiai Ram N Hoe || Gur Parasadi Ram Mann Vasai Ta Fal Pavai Koe ||1||
If someone chants, repetitively only by tongue Ram, Ram or the preferred Name of God; by such chanting, the God can’t be realized. The fruit of realization of God is through the grace of enlightenment.
There is no One Naam of Creator.
AGGS 9
Akha Jiva Visarai Mar Jao || Akhan Aukha Sacha Nao || Sache Naam Ki Lagai Bhukh || Ut Bhukhai Khae Chaliah Dukh ||1||
It is very difficult to say True Name. When I don’t say I die. I hunger for the True Name which takes away all miseries. Is it true that it is difficult to say Waheguru and when I don’t say I die? Why it is difficult to say Waheguru? There are many who say Waheguru every time we talk to them but still have all problems in life. The real meaning is that it is difficult to have Virtues of the God (True Naam) in the mind (Mann) and when I forget those Virtues of the God and do deeds according to my mind (Mann), I die spiritually. So I am always hungry for those Virtues because when I live my life according to those virtues I live a peaceful life without any miseries.
Simran is remembering Virtues of the Creator all the time. That can be taught children starting any age. Children have the ability to understand from very young age.

Ardas of true devotee (Jann) never goes in vain because such a devotee never asks worldly desires to be fulfilled but for God’s Grace, peace of mind, contentment and betterment of all in the universe. Nanak takes the strength from the God of the Universe, the treasure of excellence.

We should ask from God, wisdom to live truthful life. With that all worldly desires will be under control and mind (Mann) will be contented.
So Ardas should be to arouse divine love in the heart, so that we can get knowledge and wisdom to live a perfect truthful life. For worldly desires to be fulfilled we have to work ourselves, but Ardas helps us psychologically that God is with us now.

Purakh many scholars say God is male but here “Purakh” does not mean male, but omnipresent. In following Shabds “Purakh” is used as omnipresent.
AGGS 623

Those people, who obey Cosmic Law of God, have Omnipresent Creator with them all the time. Worldly vices (Maya) can’t harm them. Here Guru has used “Purakh” as omnipresent, not a male entity.

God is Eternal Creator who is permeating and pervading among all.
We should see One Creator in all and treat all equally.

A miracle is an event which cannot be explained by laws of nature or science. In other words any event that causes surprise is a miracle. Miracles are of two types. The first types are a result of Divine action like a child surviving a flood or help arriving when not expected, child prodigies performing amazing feats in fields of education, games or other skills. The only explanation for such occurrences is that God willed it that way. The second types are occurrences which are deliberately shown to be performed by human beings, the so called god-men. This is an attempt to show that miracles are inspired by God. Such an event may be attributed to a supernatural being (especially a deity), magic, a saint, or a religious leader.
See lessGurmat is based on logic hence no miracles were performed by Guru Nanak and other Gurus.

If one says I got something because of my own effort, it then cannot be a blessing of the God. Nanak says the real miracle (Kramat) is receiving the Grace on the pleasure of the God. So the real miracle (Kramat) is Grace of the God.
The real miracle (Kramat) is creation of nine more Gurus by Guru Nanak. Bhagats raising their voice against rituals, hypocrisy, superstitions, caste system and merging with God in spite of being slandered as low caste by high caste Brahmins is the real Kramat. The real miracle (Kramat) is creation of warrior Singhs and Kaurs from ordinary peasants by Guru Gobind Singh through Khande Bate Di Pahul (Amrit). The real miracle (Kramat) is those brave Sikh men and women, who sacrificed their life but did not surrender their Sikh religion; Who got themselves cut to pieces from each of the joints of the body; Who got their scalps removed; Who were tied and rotated on the wheels and broken into pieces; Who were cut by saws; Who were flayed alive; Who sacrificed themselves to upkeep the dignity of the Gurdwaras; Who did not abandon their Sikh faith; Who kept their Sikh Religion and saved their long hair till their last breath. Gurmat rejects any type of supernatural powers. For more info listen to my youtube.

One wishes for something, but something different happens. Nanak says one plots to deceive others, but places the noose around own neck instead. Worldly temptations are never fulfilled. After one, another crops up. One never gets contentment in the world. The only way to fulfill the worldly temptations is to control them by adopting and assimilating the Virtues of the God with their consciousness. God has made arrangements in advance to fulfill our daily requirements. We need to work for them. People beg for children from God but God has provided them as well in advance. If for some reason there is a defect in the body, one should seek treatment for it. If the defect cannot be treated then accept it as Will of the God (Hukam) and live with it happily. We will then never ask God Why me? And will never try to bribe God or make business dealings (Sukhna Sukhni). We should be asking for God’s blessing in the form of Virtues (Naam), and contentment.

Historical Gurdwaras are also mentioned as Sachkhand Hazur Sahib, Sachkhand Damdama Sahib, Sachkhand Angitha Sahib etc.
See lessMany take “Sach Khand Vasey Nirankar” literally without understanding its true meaning, and assume that Sachkhand is a place where God lives, whereas in Gurbani it is repeatedly and clearly stated that God is present in every molecule and resides in Its creation. It is important point to note that in Jap Bani Guru Nanak before describing Sach Khand describes Giyan Khand, Dharm Khand, Saram Khand and Karam Khand which are not geographical places and so is also Sach Khand. Sach Khand is the spiritual state of mind (Mann) when the mind (Mann) becomes one with Virtues of the God and there remains no difference between God and the devotee. In a way it is true that Sachkand is a place where God resides, which is everywhere Aapinai Aap Sajiou Aapinai Rachiou Nao || Duyi Kudarat Sajiai Kar Asan Dditho Chao || AGGS 463. It Itself created Itself; It itself created the code of conduct (Naam). Secondly, It fashioned the creation and seated within the creation and beholds it with delight. Eh Jag Sachai Ki Hai Kotharri Sachae Ka Vich Vas || AGGS 463. This world is the abode of the True God; within it is the dwelling of the True God which is the mind (Mann) Mann Toon Jot Saroop Hai Apana Mool Pachan || AGGS 441. So neither the historical Gurdwaras be called Sachkhand, dead Dera Babas be called “Sachkhand Vasi” nor Guru Nanak went to a geographical location called Sachkhand.
