Guru Angad Dev ji
Respected Veer Ji,
Punjabi language exists from a very long time. It has been said that the Punjabi language has been there from times of Shiekh Farid Ji. The words in the language have been changed from time to time but it exists from a very long time. The changes have been like –
ੜ – This letter have been used by Dhan Guru Nanak Sahib Ji in the Bani Patti (ਰਾਗ ਆਸਾ ਪਟੀ).
The language Punjabi have been existed before DhanGuru Angad Sahib Ji.
In my personal view the script of spoken Punjabi language was not formalized till Nanak Sahib.
Kindly give some inputs on the subject please.
Respected Veer Ji,
Till where I have read, I remember that the first Punjabi literature poet writer was Baba Sheikh Farid Ji who was present in the year 1173. So it is clarified from here itself that the language Punjabi was spoken and written before him as he was the first Punjabi literature poet writer. But from what I gathered the language Punjabi became famous from Dhan Guru Nanak Sahib Ji. If you have any other information do share it with me.
Thank you veer ji.

The Punjabi language and script is more than 5000 years old.
Most of the Indian languages have evolved from Punjabi.
Many foreign languages have linked information related to Punjabi.
