Thank you for asking this question.
In Sikhi it very different than in other faith groups. Sikhi is this life, right here and does not talk about the life after death.
In Sikhi, every action, positive or negative, has its consequence. There is no pardon or escaping from it. And it all happens right in this life, right here on this earth, not after death, like some other faiths teach.
Each activity is evaluated and the judge is honest and the court is just.
Each activity is evaluated and the justice is served.
Every thing happens depending on how and what we do both at physical level and mental level.
All actions are decided according to the Hukam of Akal Purkh. Hukam operating at physical level can be understood with the help of science. Hukam operating at mental level can be understood with the help of Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib.
All the deeds gets decided in this life period only.
Hence we have to control our mind with the help of Gurbani so that it directs body to act in the right direction.
