Guntaj in this SHABAD (PAGE 383) GURU ARJUN SAHIB raised a question that KAAM, KRODH AND EGO like vices have made human life miserable, unhappy and stressful and then GURUJI answer this question saying MAHA MANTAR GUR HIRDAI BASIO ACHRAJ NAAM SUNIO REE meaning through contemplation and meditation on SHABAD, BANI, DIVINE WISDOM I DESTROYED EGO AND TRANSFORMED MY CONSCIOUSNESS AND NOW I ENJOY PEACE AND HAPPINESS. Central idea of this SHABAD is how to transform our vices into virtues. hope this answer your question. Please note MANTAR here is not like VEDANTIC MANTRAS.
