There are many many great ones and given fragmentation in our religion, someone will come up to critique them.
Take Prof Sahib Singh, who spent 30+ years to bring grammar based interpretation of gurbani and set a new level of understanding. Yet, people criticize his work because he was born in a Hindu family and say that it affected his interpretation.
