When ready from SGGS?
Bishraam or pause is meant to contemplate the spiritual message of the Shabad (verse).
Usually “rahao” is referred to as bishraam (or pause). This is to indicate that this particular line is the spiritual take-way form the shabad. So, pause and contemplate on the core. For ex:
ਨੀਚਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਨੀਚੀ ਹੂ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਚੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥਿ ਵਡਿਆ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਰੀਸ ॥ ਜਿਥੈ ਨੀਚ ਸਮਾਲੀਅਨਿ ਤਿਥੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖਸੀਸ ॥੪॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 15}
In the above shabad: “ਬਾਬਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਚਨਾ ਧੋਹੁ ॥ is the “rahao” line, hence it is the spiritual message of the entire Shabad.
