There is no reference in the Gurbani enshrined in Guru Granth Sahib ji of the SAMPURANTA DIVAS.
SAMPURANTA literally means completion and DIVAS means day. SAMPURANTA DIVAS literally means day of completion.
As per know Sikh history, it is said that up to the time of Guru Arjan Sahib, the Gurbani was in separate notebooks/sheets. Guru Arjan Sahib made the effort to collect all the Bani of previous Guru Sahibs, Bhagats, Bhatts, and some spiritual Sikhs and put it all in a very precise order and had it scribed in one place. This one collected was known as BEERH.
This SAMPURANTA DIVAS is said to be the day when this task was first completed.
Here SAMPURANTA means completion of the task of collecting and scribing all the BANI in one place. Please note: this certainly is not the completion of the entire Gurbani as Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib’s BANI was added on later.
thanks for precise reply
