Khalsa, the pure truthful belongs to 1ਓ, they are victorious overpowering vices

wah means awesome,
guru means teacher
So the two words together mean that the Guru Sahiban is awesome.
this word was mostly used in the praise of the Fourth Guru by Brahmin Bhatt Gayand on page 1602 of GGS.
This word actually does not mean God, but somehow today is commonly used to denote God !!
The salutation WJKKWJKF is popular and is ingrained in the minds of common people which strangely means that the Khalsa alone belongs to the God, and may God be victorious.
This salutation is attributed to the Tenth Guru Gobind Singh ji, but there is no proof of this popular view at all.
The earlier common traditional salutation while meeting used to be Sat sri Akal which meant God is Truth.
As per Bhai Gurdas ji ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ is made up of four alphabets ie ਵਵਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ, ਹਾਹਾ ਹਰੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ, ਗਗਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ।
Therefore, as per Bhai Gurdas, this word Waheguru denotes the God of Sikhs.
