For many years, I’ve had a question lingering in my mind that I still haven’t found a satisfactory answer to. This question can be summarized as, “Is everything in the Universe controlled by God?

In response to your question, ‘Is everything in the universe controlled by God’, as understood by the undersigned, the answer is in the affirmative.

In support of this statement, the undersigned is quoting the following Tuk from Guru Granth Sahib in which Guru Sahib is guiding us that first Akalpurakh was in transcendental ( ਨਿਰਗੁਣ -ਸਰੂਪ) state. Then He revealed Himself and set up this entire universe (ਸਰਗੁਣ-ਸਰੂਪ) and He Himself sat in this universe. Therefore, He is inside us in transcendental state (ਨਿਰਗੁਣ-ਸਰੂਪ) and with us in this in this universe (ਸਰਗੁਣ-ਸਰੂਪ). So, He is everywhere.

To further elucidate, the undersigned is quoting, a Pauri from Guru Granth Sahib, in which whatever the undersigned has stated above, becomes crystal clear. In other words, God (Akalpurakh) is in every body and in nature everywhere.

When He is everywhere then He controls everything also. But it is in the hands of human beings, to destroy the nature and this is what is happening, resulting in suffering for every one.

Similarly, He guides every human being to remain on the right path in life but some people listen to the inner voice, remain one with Him and live a happy and healthy life whereas others don’t and continue to suffer all through life.

ਏਕਮ ਏਕੈ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ ਚਉਥੀ ਪਉੜੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਊਚੀ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ (ਪੰਨਾ 113)

ਅਰਥ: ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਆਪ (ਨਿਰਗੁਣ-ਸਰੂਪ) ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਦੋ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ (ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਤੇ ਸਰਗੁਣ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ) ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ) ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਂਹ ਉੱਚਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।4।

ਹਰਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟੇ ਘਟਿ ਬਸਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਲਿ ਥਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਥਾਨ ਥਾਨੰਤਰਿ ਬਸਤਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੋ ਚਾਓੁ ॥ ਕੋਈ ਆਵੈ ਸੰਤੋ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਨੁ ਸੰਤੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਜਨੁ ਸੰਤੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਿਖਲਾਵੈ ॥ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਾ ਪਾਓੁ ॥੧॥ (ਪੰਨਾ 1201)

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਤ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲੇ, ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਤ ਆ ਮਿਲੇ, ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਮਿਲੇ, ਤੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਰਾਹ ਵਿਖਾ ਜਾਏ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਮਲ ਮਲ ਕੇ ਧੋਵਾਂ।1।
