Is it a good idea to send children to learn more about Sikhism without forcing them to learn?
Gurmat camps are meant for imparting training in brief form on various aspects for both parents and children. They are meant for creating awareness. Parents should try to motivate the children for attending the camps.
Many times there are clashes in the family when only children go to the camps.
Gurmat camps impact advanced knowledge to the children. But many parents are ritual oriented.
It is always better if parents also try to learn along with the children, otherwise there can be difference of opinion among them.
However one must try to study in advance about the Camp, their standard of teaching Gurmat and other related fields that will be covered during the camp.
Gurbani says that we should get together and learn Gurbani by contemplating collectively, and camps are the best way for children to interact with each others to gain from everyone’s experiences.
