From my childhood memories I remember being at my Nana Ji’s house.
At that time I remember being woken up early for Parbhat Pheri.
My question is how this started and how it become a part of Sikh culture.

As best as I know, there is no mention of PARBHAT PHEAEREE in Guru Granth Sahib.
This and many other traditions started to propagate the message of Gurbani beyond the walls of Sikh Gurduaras. NAGAR KITAN is another example.
All these traditions may have started with good purpose in mind. But now they have become nothing but rituals. One hardly learns Guru message at such gatherings.
Look at how the NAGAR KIRATANS waste Sikhi funds on showoffs. One can hardly hear the message of Gurbani, but one can surely hear a lot of noise and see a lot of flowers being wasted in showoff on the carriage carrying Guru Sahib ji. I am not sure Guru Sahib will allow such a waste of resources in his times.
To me, such wasteful practices do not seem to be in line with the message of Guru Granth Sahib ji, which always shows respect for everything in the nature / creation.
Please forgive my lack of knowledge, I am not aware when PARBHAT PHAEREE started or who started it. But appears to have started in late 20th century.
Thank I appreciate your time and effort.
