Some Sikh people wear this around their neck.
Is this same as wearing a part of the 5 ks?
Please explain?

Dear Bani Kaur ji,
No, this is not a part of the 5Ks, this is nothing but just like a pendant.
Respected Bani Kaur Ji,
I agree with the answer provided earlier.
To add my two bits please allow me to say;
Sikhi is a way of life, Truthful living, not a show or pretend thing. In Sikhi if one is wearing a Kirpan, it needs to be a Kirpan, that can be used for the intended purpose and not a show thing.
Sikhi teaches one to live a SACHIAR life, in accordance with the NAAMU, within HUKAM, the Order Created by the Creator.
Wearing of such symbols to represent the 5K’s might satisfy wearer’s mind but has no spiritual meaning.
