Sikh Rehat Maryada was approved by SGPC in 1936 adopting Word Waheguru as Almighty for Sikh Nation. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh salutation is used as a respect to greet Sikh brothers and sisters.
My personal opinion is, it doesn’t matter you write the complete salutation or short version. What matter most is the sincerety and intention.
We have 1ਓ as a short name of Creator in Satguru Granth Sahib Ji
Veer jio, i was not aware of the fact that in 1936 this word “Waheguru” was adopted as the Almighty for the Sikh nation.
Kindly throw some more light on this critically important subject please. Even references with some explanations would be alright.
When we eat, we eat the complete food for the stomach. Then on the same logic we must try to give full contents to the mind also. Therefore, it is always better to say or write in the full form.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
“ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫ਼ਤਹਿ”
This gives complete feelings for both the persons.
