Yes, you are still allowed to do sewa and paath. There is no such rule about it. But, I would love to give you a suggestion about it. I want you to do the paath with its meanings and understanding it, even if you read a paudi of Jap Ji Sahib in a day. Then slowly and steadily you will know and understand by yourself if you want to cut your hair or not. Our hair (kesh) is an important part in our religion but the decision is yours, that is why I am saying that you should do the paath with the meanings and understand it by yourself.
