      First we need to know what is Naam. It is Godly Virtues.
AGGS 379
      Kam Krodh Maya Madh Matasar Ea Khelat Sabh Juai Hare || Sat Santokh Daya Dharam Sach Eh Apunai Grih Bhitar Vare ||1||
      Through spiritual knowledge and wisdom from the Guru we need to get rid of and lose ardent sexual desire, anger, intoxication with worldly passion (Maya), ego and jealousy as stake in the game of chance and usher in mind (Mann) Voluntary service Seva (Sat), contentment (Santokh), compassion (Daya), righteousness (Dharam) and truthfulness (Sach). These values are for everyone, not only for Sikhs.
      Such Naam (Godly Virtues) is as precious as jewels. If we don’t have Naam in our life our life will be useless.
AGGS 893
      Ratan Javehar Naam ||Sat Santokh Giyan ||
      The Naam of the God is as precious as a jewel and ruby. It brings truthfulness, contentment and spiritual wisdom. Chanting Waheguru will not bring spiritual wisdom but code of conduct and virtues of the God will.
AGGS 140 Parria Murakh Akhiai Jis Lab Lobh Ahankara ||Nao Parriai Nao Bujhiai Guramati Vichara ||
      A Judge has studied to be a Judge. If that Judge delivers judgement after taking bribe is known as corrupt judge (Parria Murakh). If thus Judge has Virtues of the God, will not take bribe and deliver judgement in a truthful way and is known in the society as Truthful Judge. In the same way someone has a title of Jathedar, but leads in a corrupt way. Such a Jathedar when named is called Murakh corrupt Jathedar.

      practicing naam means inculting virtues and walking on the laws of nature Without naam means we r inculting vices and negative thoughts which is going to build a inner world of hell consisting of demons

      Remembering the Naam with the help of Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib is must for a comfortable and successful life. This rare human life is the only chance to improve and make our life to be successful.
      Life without Naam is like a travel without knowing the destination and path to follow.
