Dear Brother/Sister,
As per my understanding of Sikhism, a Sikh, as per teachings of ever living Guru, Guru Granth Sahib, is to keep the Almighty always with him in his consciousness, which will not only enable him to meditate all the time but will make sure that he desists from doing anything wrong to anyone whosoever. The Sikh is required to live in a family, earn an honest living and share part of it with whosoever needs it irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
I am not aware about meditation in Buddhism and thus am unable to do any comparison. If you have any further questions about Sikhism, please do ask and I will try to answer to best of my ability.
Regards,
