ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਚੀ ਹੈ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਬਾਣੀ ਤ ਕਚੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਹੋਰ ਕਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਕਹਦੇ ਕਚੇ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਕਚੇ ਕਚੀ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਚਿਤੁ ਜਿਨ ਕਾ ਹਿਰਿ ਲਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਬੋਲਨਿ ਪਏ ਰਵਾਣੀ ॥ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਹੋਰ ਕਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੨੪॥
For knowledge sake one may read/listen to anything one finds interesting as long as it doesnt take one’s mind away from the ੴ.
It is not reading or listening, it is beleiving and living one’s life in accordance with the message that matters.
For a sikh it importnt to beleive in the Gurbani enshrined in SGGS and live accordingly.
ਕੰਨ ਰਸ , ਮਨ ਸਮਝਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਪਰਚਾਉਣਾ ਜਦੋ ਦੋਨਾ ਚ ਫਰਕ ਸਮਝ ਗਏ ਤਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਹੈ
Gurbani is exclusively contained in the 1429 pages of the Gurbani Granth Sahib which was finally compiled, enlarged and got written by our Tenth Master Gobind Singh Sahib.
Any thing else written by or purported to be written by anyone whoever he or she maybe is not to be equated with Gurbani and should be considered as a Rachana of that person. As per the last proclamation of our Tenth Master only this Gurbani Granth Sahib should be recognized by the Sikhs all over the Globe.

At the time of our Third Master, Kachee Bani was being written under the name of ‘Nanak’, and promoted by SrI Chand and Datu from Kartarpur and Khadoor respectively.
Also, reading our Gurbani Granth Sahib without any interest does not make the written text as ਕੱਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
