In response to your question, about the word Haram (ਹਰਾਮ) in Sikhi, Gurbani teaches that whatever a person, who doesn’t remember God and doesn’t try to remain one with Him, eats, is nothing but Haram:-
ਮਃ ੧ ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ਸੋ ਜੀਵਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜੀਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ ਜੇ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਲਥੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਾਮੁ ਜੇਤਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ ਰਾਜਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਲਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤਾ ਨਚੈ ਨੰਗੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਗਿਆ ਮੁਠਾ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਗਇਆ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 142} ਅਰਥਾਤ (ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਬੰਦਗੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਨਾਮ-ਵਿਹੂਣਾ (ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ) ਜੀਊਂਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ (ਏਥੋਂ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ (ਏਥੇ) ਖਾਂਦਾ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰਾਮ ਹੀ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਮਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੇ-ਸ਼ਰਮ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੱਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਕੜਦਾ ਹੈ) । ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਠੱਗਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਲੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਕੇ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।1।
