Gurbani nowhere say men and women are equal. Both are complementary to each other. Hence, we have to respect them as much as a man wants. Both have qualities as well as limitations, which are helpful in making a complete family system.
ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮੰਦਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾਨ ॥ (੪੭੩)
Guru Amar Das Sahib established 22 preaching centers. Some were controlled by women. There is no distinction between men and women as far as Guru Granth Sahib is concerned. We need to improve our social system where ever such disparity exists.
