ANONYMOUSJI ask question that adds to your knowledge of SIKHI. What you gain by asking such questions.
Asking question is a sign of curiosity & willingness to know. These are initial steps to have clarity of vision & philosophies of Sikhi. In Sikhi we have answers to every question – Let me try to attempt this with a good intension.
“The colors have been associated with many myths & superstitions which have been introduced in society by people who are inherently stronger in human psychology for their petty gains like getting their narratives across. People who get prey into these are generally people with low self-esteem & low belief in Super Natural Energy (called by many names – Waheguru, Allah, Ram, God). So the elders who say these may be higher in age but are lower in self-esteem & may have weak connect with Waheguru.
To get out of these superstitions – The only way is to connected with that Energy “Ek Onkar”. How? Through ‘Sangat’ as its like a primary school where child see others & learns collectively. Then as he grows old, he is self-sustained. Same is the methodology with Waheguru, as been taught to us through Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. When one acquires the daily practice then ‘Sehaj Path’ is the daily-dose of our spiritual energy.
