There is confusion amongst Sikh brethren regarding whether Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a spiritual master, a divine prophet or similar to Jesus as God on earth. While some believe that he was a messenger sent by God with a revelation, others view him as a manifestation of God himself.

Hello as your name mentions as Kumar. NO Sikh has any confusion what so ever as all the 10 souls have said the same thing, they are just here to guide our path to be with the universal master.
Sikhism is like any reputed schools which has its own uniform, syllabus, exams and passed out is becoming one with the universal master . The Creator.
Thanks a lot
Respected Prince Kumar ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question the undersigned wants to say that as per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, in his discussion with Yogis, First Guru Person, Guru Nanak Sahib had made it clear that his Guru was Shabad Guru, when he told them ‘Shabad Guru Surat Dhun Chela (เจธเจฌเจฆเฉ เจเฉเจฐเฉ เจธเฉเจฐเจคเจฟ เจงเฉเจจเจฟ เจเฉเจฒเจพ).
As you may see from Gurbani stanzas and their meanings given below, that at spiritual level, the Guru Persons were one with Akalpurakh and thus embodiment of each other:-

In the Shabad and its meanings given below, Fifth Guru Person, Guru Arjun Sahib is teaching us that even a Sikh, who has become virtuous, after getting rid of vices, become one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, and thus achieved the state of spiritual equipoise (เจเจคเจฎเจฟเจ เจ เจกเฉเจฒเจคเจพ) and spiritual bliss (เจเจคเจฎเจฟเจ เจเจจเฉฐเจฆ), can in a way be embodiment of Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, at spiritual level. Further, Guru Sahib, with utmost humility is seeking dust of feet of such a sewak:-

From the above discussion, one can draw the conclusion that the Guru Persons were embodiment of Akalpurakh at spiritual level (เจ เจเจพเจฒเจชเฉเจฐเจ เจฆเจพ เจฐเฉเจช เจธเจจ) and they taught the Sikh to be a ‘Seeker of Truth’ and stand for:-
(i) Oneness of Humanity;
(ii) No discrimination owing to gender, race, caste, creed, or color;
(iii) No empty rituals & worthless religious practices (karamkands);
(iv) No life after death theories. Rather, achieve salvation/emancipation, during the life time on getting rid of vices.
Further, they taught Sikh to :-
(i) live his life in the present, as per Hukam of Akalpurakh and teachings of ever living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib;
(ii) earn an honest living, remain connected with Akalpurakh all the time and share his honest earning with poor and needy;
(iii) be compassionate, kind, tolerant and to love all i e. to reach the mental state of seeing Akalpurakh in everyone and hence having friends only and no enemies;
(iv) serve the humanity, without any distinction of caste, creed and religion!
(v) fight against oppression, tyranny, persecution, atrocity and cruelty.
The Guru Persons taught a simple way of life, to the entire humanity and gave it a goal of achieving salvation/emancipation, during the present life itself by getting rid of vices. This is not so in case of other organised religions.
Based on the above discussion, it is quite visible that the Guru Persons were embodiment of Akalpurakh at spiritual level and came in this world for welfare of the humanity.
Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
Thanks Sir
