Please note that spirituality of SIKHI completely reject the concept of reincarnation. GURBANI says we have only one life here and now. Every thing that happens with happens in this life. KABIRJI says MANAS JANAM DULAMBH HAI HOE NA BARAI BAAR meaning life does not happen again and again, happens only once. No second coming. Realize GOD in this life.

      Respected Ashwani Sharma ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

In your question, you have desired to know the difference between cycle of birth and death, as per teachings of Sikhism, vis-a-vis concepts of moksha and liberation, as per teachings of Hinduism. Both moksha and liberation means emancipation/salvation. In other words, you want to know what is emancipation/salvation, as per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.

In response to your question, the undersigned wants to draw your attention to the following Stanza of a Shabad of Fourth Guru Person, Guru Ramdas Sahib, in which he is guiding us that Akalpurakh is all pervasive i.e. everywhere in water, earth and every living being:-

He lives in every living being, as what we call as soul and because of His existence in the body, it functions. When He leaves the body or you can say when He withdraws the strength, physical death takes place. The five elements of which body is made of merge with the earth and soul merges with Akalpurakh and nothing is left.

Therefore, reincarnation (ਪੁਨਰਜਨਮ), after death, is not a Sikhi concept but is of Hinduism. In Sikhism, the mind (ਮਨ) gets into the cycle of reincarnation, when it gets stuck into the material world. To make it clear the undersigned is just quoting two Pangtis of a Shabad of Bhagat Namdev ji at Panna 693 of Guru Granth Sahib:-

Sikhism subscribes to the theory of emancipation/salvation in this life itself (ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ) as you would observe from just one example given below. Fifth Guru Person Guru Arjan Sahib is guiding us in 8th Pauri of 23rd Ashatpadi of Sukhmani Sahib that one who becomes one with Akalpurakh while living, becomes Jeevan Mukat (Achieves emancipation/salvation in this life itself):-

      ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਓਹੁ ਧਨਵੰਤੁ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੁ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੁ ॥ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥ ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੨੩॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 294-295}

      ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
      ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਧਨ ਵਾਲਾ, ਕੁਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
      ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੀ ਤਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਣਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਿਕ ਹੈ।
      ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਚੇਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
      ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ (ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਐਸੇ (ਉੱਤਮ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਹੈ।8। 23।

Emancipation/salvation in Sikhism (ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਣਾ) means not getting stuck in the material world, getting rid of vices by changing life, becoming one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru who are embodiment of each other, achieving the stage of spiritual equipoise (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ) and spiritual bliss (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਆਨੰਦ), as per the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.

Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.

      Regards,
      Your Brother
