Scientists believe in the big bang theory and evolution. These theories don’t have any mention of god, so I don’t understand why religions believe God created everything, and then there are the Scientific theories. Who and what is God? How did everything begin according to Sikhism?

Guru Nanak gave concept of Big Bang Theory. Georges Lemaître a Belgian Roman Catholic priest, mathematician, astronomer, and professor of Physics at the Catholic University of Louvain, first suggested the Big Bang theory in the 1920s, when he theorized that the universe began from a single primordial atom while Guru Nanak theorized it five centuries ago
AGGS 1035
Arabadh Narabadh Dhundhukara || Dharan N Gagana Hukam Apara || Na Din Rain N Chand N Suraj Sunn Samadh Lagaeida ||1||
Before creation of this universe for endless time, there was only utter darkness. There was no earth or sky; there was only the infinite Command of God’s Hukam. There was no day or night, no moon or sun; Only God sat in primal deep trance.
AGGS 3
Kita Pasao Eko Kavao || Tis Te Hoe Lakh Dariao ||
Guru Nanak explains that from the Big Bang, God created this universe including the galaxy where we live. With that came sun, moon, earth, air, water, day, night (time), days, and seasons.
AGGS 19
Sache Te Pavana Bhya Pavanai Te Jal Hoe || Jal Te Tribhavan Sajia Ghat Ghat Jot Samoe ||
From the God came the air, and from the air came water. From water God created the entire cosmos and abide in each and every molecule.

Guru Nanak says that GOD created this universe through a Big Bang and in the same way HE will destroy it. UTPAT PARLO SHABDEY HOVEY SHABDEY HI FIR UPAT HOVEY. And about evolution Guru sahib ji says that the evolution of a man is at its peak when one start thinking that how a lowest person on the earth can be equalized..Otherwise he is illiterate. And should not claim that he is developing.

According to Sikhism, the creator is in Nature/ creation. In Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, there is a concept of Natural Selection. According to this concept, the selection of living organisms by nature is responsible for the origin of species and the diversity of the biological world. Here Science and Sikhism converge.
