A) AAKHA JEEVA VISRAI MER JAAOO II ANK 9
I am alive living with the virtues of Creator. I die otherwise
^ Does this mean we are only living by the grace of Akal Purak? he is sustaining us and can chose to take us.
B) BHARM BHARM JONEE PHIR PHIR AAIAA II ANK 1049
^ What’s spiritual reincarnation, could somebody explain this concept please, I was informed by Gursikhs previous there are shabad in Gurbani which allude to the number of “8.4 million” as being the number of reincarnations a soul goes through. I’m now confused as to whether in the SGGS the message is reincarnation in the mind in this life or whether we go through reincarnation after death? Somebody please explain quoting Gurbani.
C) PAWNEI MEH PAWN SMAAIAA II JOYOTI MEH JYOT RAL JAAIAA II ANK 885
^ If there is no physical reincarnation and energy merges with the elements, what is the purpose of worshiping and giving praise to God? If all that happens is a cosmological event. Would you say therefore the teachings of the gurus is for guidance in this life only?
Sat Sri Akal Sadhu Singh, I have been informed by other sikh sources that Gurbani very clearly mentions physical reincarnation.
They observed the answer provided by Sikh Wisdom and said it is an incorrect interpretation:
This is what I was informed earlier:
AAVAN JANA JAMUN MARNA MANMUKH PAT GVAAEE II ANK 31 The self-minded people who are not living with the virtues of the Creator lose their honor, go through spriritual births and deaths, reincarnate with vices in this life. They can also equire traits of animals.
^ Implying spiritual and not physical death.
I was later informed:
The 885 ang shabad is about physical death, there is no distinction made for the spiritual death and daily reincarnations of the mind. Gurbani mentions karams done in previous lives as well.
8.4 million reincarnation cycle mentioned again and again in Gurbani? In Gurbani it also says
In so many incarnations, you were a worm and an insect;
in so many incarnations, you were an elephant, a fish and a deer.
In so many incarnations, you were a bird and a snake.
In so many incarnations, you were yoked as an ox and a horse. ||1||
Meet the Lord of the Universe – now is the time to meet Him.
After so very long, this human body was fashioned for you. ||1||Pause||
In summary, it is impossible to draw the conclusion that Gurbani provides specificity to “spiritual death” of the mind. In addition, you cannot experience 8.4millin reincarnations of the mind, scientifically impossible.
I also ask myself why do we have karmic debt or burden? Gurbani talks about Naam washing away millions of sins. Where did they come from, if not from previous lives? If we are born without sins/karmic debt, then why are babies/infants/young children spiritually enlightened? Why doesn’t everyone have a clean slate and start from the same position? Spiritual reincarnation makes no sense and all other Sikhi sources I have engaged with have told me Gurbani explicitly is refereeing to physical death and no other meaning can be derived.

AAKHA JEEVAI VISRAI MER JAO II
This pertains to spiritual death not the physical death. We physically live by the grace of Akaalpurkh in both cases.
JEEVN NUKT SO AAKHIAA MER JEEVAI MARIAA II ANK 448-49
This should be our goal in life to become jeevan mukt now not afterlife. Conrolling lust, anger, greed, strong attachment with things and Ahangkaar. By bringing home the virtues such as Truth, Divine love, Contentment, Compassion, Egoless. Humility. Sahej. Kindness, Forgiveness. Patience, no Enmity, no Jealousy etc.
We have to work on this hard, then with His/Her Grace Charhdi Kalaa, joy, peace will be on our way
Akaal Purkh Bliss!
