      Respected Brother/Sister,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

You have asked a question whether Paath of Rehras can be done between 8 to 9 PM?

The undersigned wants to draw your kind attention to stanzas of a Shabad of the third Guru Person Guru Amardas Sahib in Siri Rag, which is located at Panna 35 of Guru Granth Sahib, for your reading and contemplation.

You will realise that Guru Sahib is teaching us that the real question is not of reading any particular Baani at any particular time but imbibing the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and changing one’s life accordingly.

Therefore, you can very well do the Paath of Rehras between 8 to 9 PM. There doesn’t seem to be any problem in this regard.

Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.

      Regards,
      Your Brother

P.S. The undersigned will also like to draw your attention to a fact that Guru Sahib has not named any Baani as Rehras as he has named Jap Baani and Sohila Baani in the beginning of Guru Granth Sahib.

Sikhs themselves, based on the Pangti (Panna 10) have created the Baani Rehras. It would have been good if they would have limited themselves to including Shabads at Panna 9 to 12 of Guru Granth Sahib in the Rehras but they have included much more literature, which can’t be termed as Gurbani, in Rehras. The result is that not one but many versions of Rehras are available resulting in lot of confusion.
      ———————
      P. S. Further to what the undersigned has said above as per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, your attention is also invited to pages 9-10 of Sikh Rehat Maryada, which in general lays down the timings of Paath of Nitnem Baanis. You can read the Rehat Maryada by clicking on the link below:-

      https://sgpc.net/?page_id=653

But these timings may not suit everyone for various reasons. Therefore, one should not feel bad/guilty if one is not able to adhere to the timings. The effort should be to adhere to the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and change life to become a righteous (ਸਚਿਆਰ) person, to get rid of the vices, to become one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru who are embodiment of each other, reach the stage of spiritual equipoise (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ) and spiritual bliss (ਆਤਮਿਕ ਆਨੰਦ) and finally achieve the stage of emancipation salvation in this life itself (ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ).

There is no hard and fast rule for washing the hair. Normally People do not wash their hair daily, but washing interval depends upon the climate and type of work. One should be fresh and awake while studying Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib. Hence, it always better to take bath in the morning and then study Gurbani. In case it is not possible because of medical or some other reason. Then action can be taken accordingly.
There is no specific time or place required for studying Gurbani. The requirements are same, as are required for carrying out any other study. We should be physically and mentally fresh.

We should always clean our hands before touching any book. Because cleanliness is very important. The purpose of covering our head is also that the dead hairs do not fall in the surrounding. The tuban keeps our head in the normal condition both during the hot and cold climate. We need to understand and follow the Hukam of Akal Purkh and try to go in the direction of becoming Sachyaar.

REHRAS should be done within a particular time slot is superstition. People who work night shifts, when would they do REHRAS. Any time you do contemplation on BANI is AMRIT VELA.
