Can i please make a humble request? I hope i do not cause offence. This platform is amazing for asking questions around SIkhi. It gives people a chance to learn. This includes people born and raised outside India who may not know how to read punjabi fluently.
In theory, yes we should all be able to speak, read, write punjabi but in reality thats not the case.
Recently, i have read such good questions (asked in english) and the answer us provided in punjabi, usually by the same person. This means, majority of your users are unable to read the response. This then means we are not gaining knowledge which is totally counter productive to this app.
My reading of punjabi is not fluent and google translTe struggles too.
Any chance, the responses can also be given in both english and punjabi so we can increase our knowledge.
Humbly requested for your consideration.
Dear Sister,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
Thanks for giving your feedback. The undersigned had requested S. Amritpal Singh ji Sachdeva, Administrator of this Group to make a provision so that the person, who asks question, indicates that whether he/she wants reply in English or Punjabi. I will again request him.
In the meantime, I will try to write both in English and Punjabi but the problem will arise when the Gurbani is to be quoted. It will not be possible to do that in English. Can you suggest a way out?
Regards,
Your Brother
Thankyou for your reply. Much appreciated.
Need your guidance about quoting Gurbani in Gurmukhi/Punjabi, which the undersigned will not be able to do in English?
I think you have misunderstood my question?
Please refer to the time when this app first came out. There were other scholers that quoted the gurbani but also gave a brief response in English.
Please lets not get this over complicated.
No one has asked to translate gurbani – but just a brief conclusion.
The whole point of this app was we increase our knowledge. This app was able to cater previously to these needs – so not sure why its changed and become a complicated issue.
Will not go back and forth with this discussion.
You guys have the feedback so down to you now as to whether you would like to take it on board.
Thanks for clarifying. The undersigned will try to answer the questions, as suggested by you and hopefully there should be no problem. It will be much appreciated if feedback is given by one and all for further improvement. The undersigned will also like to humbly suggest to you and all my brothers/sisters to improve their knowledge of Gurmukhi/Punjabi, to fully understand the Guru Sahib’s teachings.
Regards,
Your Brother

Thankyou for your response. And thankyou for addressing the feedback. Very much appreciated.
Dear Sister,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
Now a humble request from me. Keeping in view your feedback, I have tried to answer the questions in English. Only one question, which was asked in Gurmukhi has been answered in Gurmukhi. Please be kind to read answers in English and tell me whether any further changes are required? Your feedback will help me to improve upon further.
Hope you will be able to spend some time.
Regards,
Your Brother
