Respected Bani Kaur ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question, the undersigned wants to request you to please read the following Stanza of a Shabad of Fourth Guru Person, Guru Ramdas Sahib, in which he is guiding us that Akalpurakh is all pervasive i.e. everywhere in water, earth and every living being:-
As per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, Akalpurakh lives in every living being, as what we call ‘Atma’ and with the strength given by Him, the body functions. As soon as the strength is withdrawn, the physical death takes place and the five elements, of which the body is composed off, merge with the five elements and the Atma merges with Akalpurakh. Thus, nothing is left. No one knows as to what happens to Atma after that.
The above teachings are universally applicable to all, including Guru Sahiban, and no distinction is made.
The only difference between us and Guru Sahiban is that they were always spiritually one with Akalpurakh and were always in a state of spiritual equipoise and spiritual bliss, whereas we are not. However, this exalted state of mind can be achieved by human beings also.
As with time, our physical death takes place, the same happened with Guru Sahiban. We die (ਅਸੀਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ). However, as a matter of respect, we say that Guru Sahib Joti Jot Sama Gaye
Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
