We are building a new Gurdwara in our city, so this question has arrived. I have researched and have not got an answer yet. My question is which is the correct way of writing, is it Gurdwara or Gurudwara?
Very Respectfully, This question is related but not direct. I am trying to learn what is the correct way of writing, Gurdwara or Gurudwara?

Both spellings, “gurdwara” and “gurudwara,” are used to refer to the Sikh place of worship. However, the more commonly accepted and widely used spelling is “gurdwara.” It is derived from the Punjabi language, where “gur” means “Guru” (referring to Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy book) and “dwara” means “door” or “gateway.” So, “gurdwara” is the recommended spelling to use.
What I understand it was called DHARAMSAL , place of spiritual education. I think at the time of GURU HARGOBINDJI it was called GURUDUARA. It think proper name should be GURUDUARA , place where one learn to become SACHIARA.
