Sometimes cases come to light where the bhai sahib at the Gurdwara has abused their position, they have taken advantage of a young child whilst teaching them at the Gurdwara or in their home.
Because of one bad person this child is mentally disturbed for life.
Many grow up not wanting to learn about Sikhism.
I have spoken to friends and heard many accounts when something wrong has happen inside a Gurdwara and gets brushed under the carpet.
When will something be done about this by the Sikhs in our community.
It’s extremely sad because of one person’s bad deeds the next generation is losing interest in our Religion.
I also was looked upon with a dirty eye by a sewadar at the Gurdwara as a child, I was only 12years old.
I was strong enough to tell my mother straight away who spoke to the Gurdwara committee.
This Sewadar stopped coming to this Gurdwara in the end.
Why are topics like this ignored?

Dear Anonymous;
First of all, I want to thanks you for bringing it up. Thank you for your courage to address it with your mother and bring about some action.
Yes, I agree with you. Most times, specially, when a Bhai Sahib is involved, the issue is brushed under the rug to save the reputation of the Gurduara. But they do not realize that it is hurting the life of a child and in the long run may be multiple children/adults by that Bhai Sahib. Of course, among the children it spreads like wildfire and fills their mind with hatred towards all the Bhai Sahibs and whole Sikh Sangat that didn’t seek justice for the victim.
Yes, the community must stop protecting such actions of Bhai Sahibs and all other members of the Sangat as well. Let all the kids talk to their parents as soon as something like this happens and seek justice in all such cases.
The key is kids bringing it the attention of their parents, and the parents taking it up with the management and the entire Sangat. For the future of the Sikhi, such actions must be highlighted and justice served and not brushed under the carpet.
