See lessNagara is a unique drum associated with Sikh History as Sikhs used to drum this at Anandpur Sahib. Hindu Pahari Rajas were jealous of Sikhs beating the drum. For them, common men/women should not have been beating Nagara, as it represents sovereignty. Most of the Sikhs were from so-called low castes.
Just to keep our rich tradition alive, it is good to have Nagaras at Gurdwara. Many Gurdwaras beat Nagara at the end of Ardas. Usually, children at Gurdwara take control of it and enjoy beating the Nagara. Elders should explain to our children the history of the battles fought by brave Sikhs on the foothills of Shivalik against caste-arrogant Pahari Rulers.
But it is not necessary.

All the knowledge of Shabad-Guru (Guru Granth Sahib) that we have today is through the Ten forms of Guru Nanak. The Ten Gurus have demonstrated to the Sikhs and passed through extreme hardships. Sikhs’ lives get enriched by remembering the supreme sacrifices of the Ten Gurus.
It was the decision of the Tenth Guru that the Guruship be transferred to Guru Granth Sahib for the ages to come. Since all the aspects of Gurbani are handed over to us by Ten Gurus themselves, questioning the authority of Ten Gurus would also loosen the faith in Gurbani. So, it is a very important aspect that reverence for Ten Gurus remains intact. Hence praise of Gurus is rightfully the important part of Gurbani. No religion can continue if its followers do not revere/praise its founding fathers.

Gurbani does give reference to not only Swarg and Nark as popularized by the Brahmanical faith but also of Bahisht and Dojak as per Islamic faith. But due to the Brahmanical tilt of our interpretations, many Sikhs believe in Brahmanical re-birth, but not in Islamic kyaamat (resurrection). Whereas the use of the terms in Gurbani is only for reference purposes. Gurbani, a number of times, discards the imaginary concepts of re-birth and that of kyaamat. Gurbani gives a unique concept of ‘Jeevan Mukt’ which is free from Heaven, Hell, re-birth, or resurrection. ‘Jeevan Mukt’ in itself is a powerful concept that talks of this present life and rejects all other mythical beliefs.
