I am new to Sikhi. After many visits to the Gurudwara i have noticed people either close their eyes and listen to kirtan or just look around and be distracted. Is there any benefit of coming to gurudwara if you are distracted?

Thank you so much for asking the right question.
As per Guru Granth Sahib Bani,
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇਸੀ ॥ (ਮ:੧, ਪੰ:੭੩੦)
The spirit of the Verse is: One develops the understanding (of life) at the Gurduara, the door of Guru.
Clearly the purpose of going to Gurduara is to learn something from Guru Sahib. Unless one comes out of the Gurduara with some new knowledge, going to Gurduara just becomes a ritual, and rituals have no benefit as per Sikhi.
Hope this helps
