Respected Prabh ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question the undersigned wants to draw your attention to pages 27 to 31 of ‘Sikh Rehat Maryada’, under the heading ‘Amrit Sanskar’, which are devoted to the ceremony of taking Pahul. Please click on the link below to read the ‘Sikh Rehat Maryada’:-
https://sgpc.net/?page_id=653
No age has been prescribed for taking ‘Pahul’ in the ‘Sikh Rehat Maryada’ but at page 28 under (ਸ) it is stated ‘ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ, ਹੋਸ਼ ਸੰਭਾਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ’। According to Punjabi Shabad Kosh ‘ਅਵਸਥਾ’ means age also.
Hope that this helps. If you have any further questions please do ask. If you find any deficiencies please point out the same for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
Thank you
In my opinion one should take AMRIT ( KHANDE DEE PAHUL) when one is ready for it. I think one is ready when he or she has taken AMRIT of NAAM. GURU SAYS AMRIT SACHA NAAM HAI. I have seen five, six year old given KHANDE DEE PAHUL and worst those who completely ignorant of spirituality of SGGSJI.
Thank you
When a person has learned to do all the required Paath independently and live a disciplined life.
Thank you
You are welcome. I took Amrit for political reasons, I thought I needed the 5Ks dress, I didn’t know how to do Paath, I just listened to Paath so that was really good for me. I am not disciplined person, I listened to Paath whenever I woke up, that was not good and I ate and drink whatever or with whoever, that was not good. Finally I just gave up so Amrit was not for me. Maybe in future I don’t know if I ever will be ready. Now for me IkOnkar is Amrit. I say 3 things that I repeat and that’s my quickest Paath for anytime, anywhere. 1. IkOnkar SatGur Parsad. 2. IkOnkar Humanity. 3. IkOnkar Hukam. All my Paaths are done saying and repeating these 3 points.
