as per yug theory we are presently living in kalyug. Guru ji says meditate in Almighty through kirtan thoroughly
AGGS 1075
Kalyug Meh Kirtan Paradhana || Gurmukh Japiai Lae Dhiana || Aap Tarai Sagale Kul Tarae Har Darageh Pat Sio Jaeda ||6||
Gurmat does not believe in Yugs. Dfferent Yugs are mental state. In the mental state of Kal Yug, remembering the Virtues of the God (Kirtan) are most sublime and exalted deeds. Such a person (Gurmukh) always keeps them in their conscious mind (Mann). Such a mind (Mann) liberates itself and all sense organs from the worldly temptations (Maya) and is in a blissful state forever. Kirtan with musical instruments is sung, not Japiye. Jap is to remember always continuously every moment of life. So Kirtan cannot be Japiye. Here Kirtam does not mean singing with musical instruments. Bani is true for everyone. If it means singing with musical instruments then what for those who does not know them. Here Kirtan means Virtues.
