First thing first, depression is a disease and should be treated as such. You need lot of support from family. Listen to GURBANI discourses by SATPAL SINGH NANAK NAAM HOW TO DEAL WITH DEPRESSION.

Physical and Mental Suffering, disease and anguish can be abridged by listening to True Gurbani
This Shabad clearly defines that Gurbani can be reduce the physical and mental suffering provided we listen to the True Gurbani
Just by reading this sentence is not going to help. We have to make Gurbani as a part and parcel of our practical life.
We should also study and understand the guidelines given in the earlier 39 Pauries of Anand Sahib.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਰੋਵੈ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧੋਖਾ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
Any one who does not try to understand the Hukam of the Akal Purkh according to which the whole universe is running both at mental level and physical level, keeps on suffering in his life. Such a person remains in the illusion and does not lead a comfortable and peaceful life.
Hukam operating at mental level can be understood with the help of Guru Granth Sahib.
Hukam operating at physical level can be understood with the help of Science and other fields.

Thanks a lot for the question. Mental distress must be discussed openly just like any other health problem.
Sometimes it takes long before the medicines start working. Kindly do pay regular request visits to doctors and explain to him / her your exact condition. Many times doctors have to make changes in medications to identify the best-fit medicine combination for patients.
But good thing is that you have resolved to get out of it. It is this resolve along with your faith in Gurbani that will definitely bring results very soon.
My humble suggestion is that you should try to get involved in some physical activities in Gurdwara. Like participating in Sewa activities, joining Sikh groups, learning kirtan, etc. If possible read books on Gurbani or Sikh History. Do not limit yourself to merely reading Gurbani.
