at that time people following the particular religion were deviating from their goal
So Guru Nanak preached them the right path
He didn’t ask them to follow him but be practical in your own religion to attain salvation
Gurbani presented a concept of 1ਓ One Omnipresent Creator who manifest in his/her creation. The spirituality is focused here and now on Gian of the Shabd Guru. Sikhi is a phylosophy that has rejected rituals and advise us to obtain salvation while living instead of after the physical death. Gurbani stress upon humanity, equality of all irrespective of religion including gender, Sikhi advises to becomer Sachiar like God by obtaining virtues, emphasize to live with great coduct and values
SARAB DHARM ME SHRESHAT DHARM HAR KO NAAM JUP NIRMAL KARM II ANK 266
The best religion (duty) is to live with the virtues of the Creator and do good deeds
Here is the real reason. Spiritual paths created by BUDHA, JESUS , MOHAMMED were pure and similar. Unfortunately non of them left any of their teachings in text or written form. QURAN ,BIBLE were compiled many many years after they left the world Their ORIGINAL TEACHINGS were misinterpreted and distorted for selfish reasons by followers. By the time GURU NANAK began his spiritual journey there were all kinds of rituals, mythical stories, miracles and worthless religious practices , caste system, what not became religions. NANAK spent 20 years observing and analyzing all this. The religious system needed complete overhaul and reform. GURBANI is the only first hand spiritual text in the religious world and can not be changed. Hope this answer your question. .
sikhism leads us not toward any religion but a way which leads all humanity towards EK PITA EKAS KE HUM BARIK
Fundamentally,
Sikhism = Christianity = Islam = Vedic Religion (If interpreted correctly)
ਬੇਦ ਕਤੇਬ ਕਹਹੁ ਮਤ ਝੂਠੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਜੋ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ
Sikhism started because
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਮਿਟੀ ਧੁੰਧ ਜਗ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋਆ॥
We (earlier hindus) were deviated from Vedas, we were blind and lost in several paths.
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਤੁਰਕੂ ਕਾਣਾ||
If you analyse Hinduism, it doesn’t have a clear path. So many different paths are there within it, and most of them were not correct. Ravana was also a Hindu, Prahlad was also a Hindu. And there are yogis, brahmchaaris, several types of tyagis (naaga, Maun dhari, etc), Mantras, travelers (Religious / Pilgrimages), and so so.
Second thing is:
Sikhism is designed for kalyug, so a huge focus was given on Naam.
Christianity and Islam (one-eyed) both have deviated to some extent.
Even Sikhism has also deviated a bit, different people have a different interpretations.
But good thing is we still have understandable vocabulary and language.
Unlike the bible which was originally written in Hebrew.
