Respected Ash Kapoor ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question about Naam, Daan Ishnan (ਨਾਮ, ਦਾਨ, ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ), the undersigned wants to say that the person who follows these principles, is a balanced personality, a Gurmukh (ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੂੰਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਲ), who always abides by the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib (Naam, ਨਾਮ), is benevolent (ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ) i.e. always ready to serve others (ਦਾਨ, charity) and Ishnan (ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ) i.e. to look within (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੋਜਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ, ਬੰਦੇ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਿਲ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ ਨਾ ਫਿਰੁ ਪਰੇਸਾਨੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥).
These principles are related with three principles Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Wand Chhako (ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰੋ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਵੰਡ ਛਕੋ) i.e. an honest earning (ਈਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰਨੀ – ਵਿਹਲੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ, ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਣਾ) , be one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, who are spiritually embodiment of each other (Gurmukh) (ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ – ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਬਣਨਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੂੰਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵੱਲ)and share with the poor and the needy (ਵੰਡ ਛਕੋ, ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ – ਅਰਥਾਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ).
Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
