Respected Bani Kaur Ji;
The LOHRI is not a Sikhi festival. In fact, it not even a religious festival of any faith. But yes other faiths have started to adopt it and worship fire on this date. It did not start out as that. If anything, it signifies burning of the cold winter and moving into warmer days.
Sikhs celebrate it as a happy day, and use to celebrate birth of a son but now due to awareness about gender equality they celebrate birth of a child during the past year(boy or girl)
