Why in Sikhism take off Janeo and wear Gatra which is just Janeo by another name?

Thank you for asking this very important question. Many a non-Sikhs think along those lines. But thinking is based on their ignorance about the Sikhi dress code.
Please note that Sikhs don’t wear GATRA, they wear a KIRPAAN. It so happens that KIRPAN is usually hoisted in a GATRAA. But it could be carried in hand and no GATRA is needed.
Please note that all 5Ks part of KHALSA dress code have a very good reason and have no Caste or gender-based distinctions.
