One can not get any thing from a person because he himself is dependent.
ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਬ੍ਰਿਥੀ ਸਭ ਜਾਨੁ ॥ 281

Let me add to the answer by Dr. Singh. In the spiritual philosophy of SGGSJI GURU IS SHABAD, BANI, DIVINE WISDOM. It is the DIVINE WISDOM, GIAN that is the SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENER NEVER A PHYSICAL BODY. A living person can guide us how to realize DIVINE WISDOM but can never be guru. GURU IS ETERNAL, AAD SACH, FORMLESS. Please do not fall in the trap of human guru. EKO HAI BHAI EKO HAI SAHIB MERA EKO HAI.
