What is pir/peer, my mother always forces me to worship with her. Is it part of the Sikh culture? Is it wrong that you worship Pir as a Sikh?

Peers are often considered in the Muslim faith. They consider the saints as their religious prophets.
While Gurbani has a Hukam
Meaning no Peer, Prophet, Auliya/spiritual teachers, there is no one living here forever. This is also the Hukam of Gurbani
Meaning it is useless to look for the support of any human being /Peer etc. while the giver of all the gifts is the one and only Akal Purakh. So one should always stay in the shelter of Akal Purakh who is the owner of all the virtues.
Thanks for answering my questions
