What is Mool Mantar and does it end at Gurprasad or Jap?
It ends at Gurparsad, then starts Sloak
1ਓ Satnam Karta Purkh Nirbhau Nirvair Akaal Moorat Ajooni Saibhang Gurparsad II
The one Omnipresent God who is in Existance everywhere, the Creator Being, Fearless without Enmity, Timeless and Formless, does not take Life Forms, Self Created, Is Realized through the Enlightement of the Shabd.
I agree with the answer above.
In addition, MOOL MANTER means MOOL UPDESH, i.e. Root (fundamental) message.
Just be careful about what is meant by God in Sikhi. It is very different than all other religions. In Sikhi believes in ONENESS of the Creator and the Creation. The Creator is within the Creation, within each entity and everywhere in the Creation. As per Sikhi, God is not somewhere out there holding a court.
Your next question is what is MOOL MANTER for?
It is a fundamental philosophy of Sikhi, it is for Sikhs to learn, understand, and apply it in their everyday life.
As per Gurbani there is no term like Mool Mantar.
This is a wrong practice to call the first stanza of Gurbani Granth Sahib as Mool Mantra. Gurbani does not believe in the concept of Mantra, which is prevalent in the Hindoo religion.
This first stanza is basically the source of Japuji Sahib and also the complete Gurbani enshrined in 1429 pages of the Gurbani Granth Sahib.
This opening text can be called Mukh Waak or Mukh Updesh or anything else till it is formalized.
This Mukh Waak describes the qualities of ੴ ie ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ, which are also the qualities of every entity of the Cosmos. Humans are instructed by the Gurbani and the Sabad Guru, to try and imbibe these qualities to become a Sachiara.
In my view, it starts from the word Sat Naam and ends at Jap(u), though there are different schools of thought, and nothing has been formalized so far. Also, this portion is a part of the Japu Bani, and it can be called it’s heading.
This Mukh Waak is repeated over 500 times, in different shapes, before the start of a new Raag or a new sub chapter of the Gurbani Granth Sahib (GGS).
