In Sri Guru Granth Sahib the word Sri is used as a prefix to many names in SGGS Bani including a name of a RAAG. In Gurbani it is mostly associated with name of the Creator.
It is a prefix to indicate respect for the person, place, or item references right after it.
One could say it is something like Sir, However, unlike Sir, Sri is not a title bestowed by any authority.
Now a days Sri word is being commonly used for any person.
However, in order to respect, it is better to use Guru, with the name of all the Guru Sahibs.
Also please note that “Shabad” is the Guru, according to Guru Granth Sahib.
Sahib is also being used as respect only, otherwise Sahib is used for Akal Purkh in Guru Granth Sahib.
