Respected Brother/Sister,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In reply to your question, the undersigned wants to say that no please, the first Guru Person Guru Nanak Sahib was not a Brahmin. He was born in a Bedi family, which as per worldly classifications, falls in Khatri dynasty/race. However, Guru Nanak Sahib was above all such divisions/classifications and his Baani/Sermon was for the benefit of one and all, without any distinctions whatsoever. In Guru Granth Sahib, it is clearly stated:-
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਚਹੁ ਵਰਨਾ ਕਉ ਸਾਝਾ ॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 747}
If you have any further questions please do ask.
Regards,
Your Brother
