The Sakhis teach us to be good Sikhs. Does it matter whether they are true or not? What do you think?

If some Sakhies give good message to be a good person one should get the message. If a Sakhi makes you a Karamkandi (Ritualistic) and give message of Gurus being Karamati (Miracles) one should shun such Sakhies.

The purpose of stories or history is to learn something good.
If Sakhi is historical and related to Guru Sahib, then that should be true and must conform to the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.
However, if the Sakhi is not true and is fabricated one, then it should be clearly mentioned as a story, without involving the name of any Guru Sahib or any person, so that we do not distort the history.

Sakhies are meant both for historical information and spiritual knowledge. With historical knowledge we can lead our lives in the right direction by following the footsteps of Guru Sahibs.
However, the Sakhi should be true and according to the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.
