Gurmat talks about suffering when we indulge in ardent worldly passions like Kam, Krodh, Lobh Moh Ahankar, Jelousy.
AGGS 413
Jag Dukhea Sukhea Jann Koe || Jag Rogi Bhogi Gunn Roe ||
The world is in agony; rarely someone is happy and contented. The world is suffering spiritually because of indulgence and is yearning for spiritual wisdom.
Only way to be happy is:
      ਵਿਣੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਜਿ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੁਖਾ ਕੈ ਦੁਖ ॥ ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਭੁਖ ॥ AGGS 958
Vin Tudh Hor J Mangana Sir Dukha Kai Dukh || Deh Naam Santokhia Otarai Mann Ki Bhukh ||
To ask for any other than You, God is the most miserable of miseries. Please bless me with Your Virtues (Naam), and make me contented so that the hunger of my mind (Mann) for worldly desires is satisfied.
      ਸੂਖ ਦੂਖ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ AGGS 820
Sukh Dukh Es Mann Ki Birtha Tujh Hi Agai Sarai. ||1||
Suffering (Dukh) and Happiness (Sukh) are part of human life, our own making. Depending on our thinking or thoughts and the resulting actions, we experience Dukh or Sukh. If our thinking or thoughts and the resulting actions are primarily Dukh producing, then one cannot avoid Dukh. To the contrary, if our thinking or thoughts and the resulting actions are primarily Sukh producing, then we cannot avoid Sukh either.

Yes, Gurbani tells us about Sufferings in many shabds

Let’s understand what’s Hukm (command) first. In very simple language, Hukm is the law of Nature being served automatically in the Universe including us all

KIV SACHIARA HOEEAI KIV KURREI TUTTA PAAL II JUP Sahib
Question: How do we become Creator realized inside and how to remove the obstacles in our non realized state

HUKAM RAJAEE CHALNA NANAK LEKHIA NAAL II
Answer: By abiding His/Her Hukm in Sahej within us

HUKMEE UTTAM NEECH HUKMEI LIKH DUKH SUKH PAEEIA
Happiness and sorrows are the result of my good or bad deeds within the Creators Hukam

GUR KE BHANE JO CHALE DUKH NA PAVAI KOAI II SGGS 31
Abiding by the Creator’s Hukm no suffering will come near us

By realizing Gurbani, living with the virtues and eliminating vices, we get Peace, Charhdi Kala, Happiness and Bliss.

RASNA GUN GOPAL NIDH GIAAN II
SAANT SEHIJ REHIS MUN UPJEO SAGLE DUUKH PLIANE II SGGS 713

Realizing the ocean of virtues of the Creator, Peace, Tranquility, and Poise will light up our in our mind and sorrows will run away.

Any one who does not try to understand the Hukam of the Akal Purkh according to which the whole universe is running both at mental level and physical level, keeps on suffering in his life. Such a person remains in the illusion and does not lead a comfortable and peaceful life.
Hukam operating at mental level can be understood with the help of Guru Granth Sahib.
Hukam operating at physical level can be understood with the help of Science and other fields.
