      Dear one,

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

In response to your question about controlling lust, the only solution is to build up a strong bond with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, who are spiritually embodiment of each other.

At Pannas 1159-60 of Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagat Kabir ji, in his Shabad, is guiding us:

Further, at Panna 26 of Guru Granth Sahib, the third Guru Person Guru Amardas is teaching us:

Though the word ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ is used in Gurbani but it is gender neutral i.e. men or women.

Further, the undersigned wants to quote a Salok of Fifth Guru Person Guru Arjan Sahib, from Salok Sehaskriti Mehalla 5, in which Guru Sahib is addressing the problem of lust, results of indulging in it and also giving guidance to get rid of it, by building a strong character:

      ਹੇ ਕਾਮੰ ਨਰਕ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੰ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਵਣਹ ॥ ਚਿਤ ਹਰਣੰ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਗੰਮ੍ਯ੍ਯੰ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਸੀਲ ਬਿਦਾਰਣਹ ॥ ਅਲਪ ਸੁਖ ਅਵਿਤ ਚੰਚਲ ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਸਮਾਵਣਹ ॥ ਤਵ ਭੈ ਬਿਮੁੰਚਿਤ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਮ ਓਟ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਹ ॥੪੬॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 1358}

      ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਕਾਮ! ਤੂੰ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਅਪੜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।

      ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੇ ਸੁੱਧ ਆਚਰਨ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

      ਹੇ ਚੰਚਲ ਕਾਮ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਤਾਂ ਥੋੜਾ ਹੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਇਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸੁੱਧ ਆਚਰਨ ਦੇ) ਧਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜੀਵ ਉੱਚੇ ਹੋਣ, ਨੀਵੇਂ ਹੋਣ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

      ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਲੈ। 46।

      ਭਾਵ: ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਚੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਚਾਹੇ ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦੇ, ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਹੀ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

As taught in Gurbani, the goal of a person/Sikh’s life should be to get rid of vices, become a righteous/ virtuous person (Gurmukh), be one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, who are spiritually embodiment of each other and achieve the stage of spiritual equipoise and spiritual bliss. The final goal is to achieve spiritual emancipation/salvation in this life itself because there is no concept of emancipation/ salvation, after death, in Sikhism.

Therefore, in Sikhism, keeping control on lust, by building a strong character and by becoming part of Sadh Sangat, is very much necessary.

Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.

      Regards,

      Your Brother

If you can’t concentrate and it’s happening unusually frequently and interfering in daily life,

I suggest looking up for these two things :

      1. Pitt rog in ayurveda

      2. Overactive libido ( which is also somewhat side effect of Pitt rog but is its own thing too.)

Just read about them from reliable sources not youtube, insta etc. ( the reels will eventually show up, but don’t take them as a source of information)

good way to start is ask on perplexity.ai, then you can jump to source links to the official recognized and respected medical / ayurvedic websites.

It will 100% help you. try the practices/diet for 2-3 weeks atleast to see results.

Do NOT start any medication (ayurvedic or not)

Only normal dietry changes are enough. Exercise will boost effectiveness but not necessary.

Take a note that exercise can also make you feel lust. so avoid it first few weeks.

Do make another anonymous post, in about a month to help others. (if it does helps you)

STEP 2 would be to pickup a hobby since you may be overly energetic and you need to release that energy somehow.

Anything that keeps you focused for atleast an hour or so like, start learning how to draw etc. or maybe Origami art or something. Must be a hands on hobby, not like reading a book etc…

may sound silly but it does work.
