Very good question Raj Kaur Ji.
There is no reference of this story in Gurbani
I visited Panja Sahib last year. This hand print in stone teaches us how an evil person with a stone heart can be changed to good person by a dialogue. The laws of nature cannot be changed by anyone. The hard stone cannot be converted to soft jelly by hand and vice versa. Guru Nanak changed the life of many with dialogue. Everyone has a potential to become Gurmukh from Manmukh.
